Mary Richards, also known as Mary Maplelag, is the founder of the Maplelag Resort located in beautiful Callaway, MN. From initially buying 56 acres of land in 1973 to make maple syrup and eventually becoming one of the largest producers in Minnesota, producing over 400 gallons in one season! To now accommodating up to 200 guests in a variety of unique, yet comfortable, accommodations. She never could have believed that what started out as a syrup business would have expanded to what is now a relaxing and welcoming resort. It just goes to show that even your smallest idea can turn into something much bigger than ever imagined.
